I think we prepare because we sometimes have to risk our lives to live. We are always trying or preparing in a sense because even giving up is a strategy. The problem comes when you try to define living beyond breathing. Personally Im not big on telling anyone theyre not alive when they are still breathing, but I understand on some level that there are times when it helps to be pushed a little to at least think about it.
