Drink Recipe: Riviter's Friend

4 oz. dark coffee
2 teaspoons brown sugar
2 1/2 oz. milk
1/4 oz. Vodka

This drink came from right before the Great Depression. It was used to keep the liquor tolerance
from rising. The theory was that if you drank a little liquor in the morning and then waited
at least until around dinner time to drink, then your body wouldn't build up a tolerance.

Sounds like a plan. My dad used to put Crown Royal in his coffee for something a little special. I like Baileys Irish Cream, but vodka would be less fattening. I've now become dependent on coffee to get moving in the morning. I just want to sleep all day, otherwise.

I purchased some Baileys to go with me on a mountain retreat with my friends. It's now a tradition for us to start the day with coffee and Baileys. I will have to try the Vodka for sleeping when I have trouble. Currently no trouble sleeping ten hour nights. I actually see my eye wrinkles disappearing like I'm reversing time. It's amazing, because I do squish my face into the pillow every night. That is supposed to cause wrinkles, but I can't sleep on my back. Have a nice fourth of July!
