Trees Touch The Air

Quietly trees touched the air
inching toward clouds as
they gently tunneled downward

Their branches weighted to the
changing days
slowly sailed ships that
moved onward

Trees with clothes, wheels, and flowers
drawn upon their leaves
now sail their ships
with true natures inaudible
still cling to each other somehow

As their roots breathe in hardened air
and their branches walk through stone.

re: your comment
If you work out 03 days a week you are awesome!! I'm sure you don't need the extra 02 days. : )

Very poignantly written!

Is it the Tsunami you are writing about? Those were the images that came first to my mind as I read through the words...

hi nicole, thnks...sadly I enjoy eating, so I think I need to increase my jogging to compensate for that. :)

siddhartha Joshi, yes, the tsumami imagery was heartbreaking, that and talking about trees recently, as well as man's relationship to the planet and the big waves that hit us in the heart too . Thanks for commenting :)

And with that touch the air is changed.
Taking what we left to make it fresh again, so we can breathe.

Listen you can hear the breeze sigh with pleasure as she passes by. xo

Anything heart-breaking lately?
Just thought I'd ask, a lot of imagery in that poem.
