Notes Cloaked In Feathers

( click picture to see the birds! )

Notes
cloaked in feathers
bloom in the sky
writing love songs

I throw off my dancing shoes
and join the bright vision
to write in the air and see
how high it goes

I would have asked you
to come with me
but I trust in the air
to ask questions

and hope you'll soon
be flying nearby

AWWWW haze, i know what you mean. sometimes we flutter around in an imagined flight, and others times in the nest for real but mother nature knows best and will lift us when ready. i have 4 orange trees in my back yard with bird nests each year and love to watch and look forward to helping them out,the parents do most of the work but sometimes a small one will be pushed out by a bigger sibling (by mistake i hope ha ha)and needs some attention :)

If there's such a thing called "cinematic poetry", this would be it.

"Notes
cloaked in feathers
bloom in the sky
writing love songs"

This stanza is a pure jewel.

You can make a good song out of this poem. This is grand as love should be.

Thanks Arian
I have gone through a few of your earlier poems and they amazed me, many of them imo are like rosetta stones of thought for people ( like me) who struggle with how to write. It's one thing geting lucky, but I think its better to have a thought process or skeleton to hang the process on rather than getting a lot of weeds and dead thoughts staring at me so often. I guess its like a guide to thinking with an open mind while being able to identify what sounds like it has some life to it.( if that makes sense)
thank you so much for putting your poetry online:)

I feel like I should say something intelligent and witty here, but what I think is -- how very lovely!

"trust in the air to ask questions"... great line there. I like this poem, and the painting it's paired with is perfect. It reminds me of a summer day at the seashore of the lovely coastal province of Canada I'm happy to call home... thanks for this...

I found your link added to a linky tool at my teaching blog. I'm happy you added yourself to the list, but just so you know, this site is a blog I keep for a university class I teach. My own writing blog is http://waxinggrasshopper.blogspot.com

Of course, I'm not saying you shouldn't visit my teaching blog, just that you probably won't get much response from my students. They're new at blogging (and are being somewhat forced into by me) and they generally don't comment there much.

It's good to make your acquaintance all the same, and I'm going to add you to my blog roll on my creative site. You've got a good thing going here and I like your way with words. Hope to catch up with you again soon.

Hi Linda, Jon, and nadh, thanks for visiting and commenting :)

Hi Jon, thanks for filling me in. I really liked your teaching blog. I'm glad you didn't mind my adding my name. I did see your other blog and am following it now. I felt more like a student than anything else that day but now i'm following both. I regret focusing so much on art and science in school and avoiding english and music and math classes. I got away with it but wish I learned more about those subjects so I'm especially attracted to blogs about english math and music now hoping some of the knowledge will rub off on me.
